When an upload-based service is still the better fit

If you need an API for thousands of images a day, or you work on an old phone where on-device AI is slow, a server-based service can be quicker. For everyday cutouts, batches of up to 50 and anything private, Clipout gives full-size results for free.

Questions

Is Clipout's quality comparable?

Clipout uses BiRefNet lite plus full-resolution edge refinement. On 40 AIM-500 benchmark images the refinement lowered alpha error by 22% against the plain model mask. Try your own photos: the result shows in seconds.

Is there a catch?

No credits, no watermark and no account. The only cost is your device's time: a few seconds with WebGPU, roughly 10 to 30 seconds on the CPU engine.

Does Clipout have an API?

No. Clipout is a browser tool; the processing happens on the device that opens the page.
